Lazy Eye Causes

Lazy eye (medically known as amblyopia) is a unique vision disorder. Its development and progression have more to do with the brain’s ability to process visual information received from both eyes than a defect in the structure of the problem eye itself. As a result, amblyopia cannot be corrected using prescription eye glasses or contact lenses. There are, however, lazy eye treatments available, including in some cases surgery. Anything that interferes with the vision field of one of a child’s eyes during the critical development phase (from birth to age 6) can result in the development of amblyopia. The most common of lazy eye causes is constant lateral strabismus, or perpetual abnormal turning of a single eye. Although a severe case of strabismus can be easily recognized by a parent, a very slight case may not be readily visible. Having your child receive a complete eye examination from a pediatric doctor is usually the best way to determine whether strabismus is causing your child vision problems.

Eye Exercises for Myopia

Covering eyelids with warm hands: This is one of the simplest form of eye relaxation technique. Whenever you feel tired and strained then you can try this method at your home. Simply rub your hands and place the warm palms on your closed eyes for few minutes. Press your palms gently on your eyelids without exerting any pressure. Keep your body calm and relaxed and keep breath normally. Repeat this process for few times in a day.

You have been been educated wrongfully on how the eye is accommodating. The theory that most people has been thought is that the lens in your eye is the one which is responsible for accommodation. But this is wrong, instead it’s the shape of your entire eye that’s involved when accommodating. Your eye functions just like a camera lens. When you zoom in on something using a camera, the lens elongates and zooms in on the object.

One exercise which works to relax our eyes and our minds is called ‘Palming’. The procedure is simple and takes less than 20 minutes, but you can do it for however long you need to. Firstly, warm your hands up by rubbing them together. Rest you elbows on a table and cup your hands. Place one palm over each eye being careful not to directly touch your eyes or put pressure on your eyelids.
